VS System TCG
Playing Vs Trading Card Game
The Vs Trading Card Game is a fast paced battle as you attempt to outwit your opponet by recruiting characters, equipment and surprises from your deck.
All the information you need is on the cards, featuring superhero favourites from the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Batman, Superman and Spider Man and vicious villians like Onslaught, Sabretooth, Bane, Joker and Doctor Doom.
It's a quick and easy game to learn how to play, and once you're up and running you can start to design decks and strategies to give your opponents a real headache.
Play is really simple with most of what you need to know right there on the cards.
The aim of the game.
All players start with 50 Endurance points, and try to break through their opponent's defences and deal damage which whittles down those points. You recruit characters from your deck and put together battle strategies to K.O. opposing characters and take out the other player. Location and Plot Twist cards bring unexpected effects to the game, catching you both off balance and forcing you to rethink your strategy as you play.
The Cards.
Cards for Vs TCG come in Common, Uncommon and Rare varieties, some being a lot harder to get hold of than others. There are also Foil versions of cards - real collectors items with a shiny metallic finish. All cards are compatable between the Marvel and DC systems, so you can mix and match your favourites and create exciting new team-ups.
There are different card types in Vs TCG. These are -
Character - the heroes or villians you recruit to join your team. All characters have a recruitment cost on the card so you need to build up your resources before you bring them into play. Characters have attack and defence values and can be given equipment to boost their abilities. Some characters also have special abilties that can be activated to bring advantages to your team, or have flight or ranged attacks to take out enemies.
Location - well known places like the Baxter Buiding, Arkham Asylum, The Batcave and Asteroid M can give your team an advantage by allowing you to take other actions or by giving you additional resources.
Plot Twist - unexpected events can really knock your opponet off balance. Plot Twists can give sudden boosts to a character's abilities, or change the game by forcing opponets to lose cards and characters.
Equipment - giving your characters hi-tech equipment like a Batarang, Pogo-Plane or Jet Pack to improves their abilities and can turn a minor character into a real threat.
Playing Vs TCG.
Play works in turns, each player having the chance to draw cards, put resources into play, recruit characters and equipment then attack their opponets. Each part of the turn is resolved to see the effects on the game - characters stunned or K.O.'d, endurance points lost, new conditions on the battlefield etc.
Everything you need to play comes in the Vs Starter Sets, including two ready made decks so you can get up and running straight away. Booster packs mean you can add cards to your collection and start to put together dangerous decks or themed teams to hammer your opponents.
