What is Perplexcity?
Perplex City is a world of mysteries, puzzles, clues and characters that needs our help to find an object of immeasurable value - The Receda Cube - stolen from their world and hidden on ours
There's a prize of £100,000 to whoever finds the location of the cube here in our world.
To do this players must solve the puzzle cards, and then look for the extra hidden clues that tell the story of the world of Perplex City and its inhabitants.
But not all you need to know will be found on the puzzle cards - websites, emails and text messages from the world's characters, clues on TV and from other players will all piece together the mystery.
The puzzle cards have different difficulties and are blocked together in colour and design. Every card has one of eight different border patterns, including stars, pixels and hexagons. By assembling a set of four puzzle cards that all have the same border colour and pattern, you can earn extra Perplex Points.
The border colours of the cards indicate rarity as well as difficulty. Reds are the easiest and most common cards through to silver, which are ultra-rare and most difficult.
When you have solved the puzzle you scratch off the silver foil panel to reveal a unique ID code - enter it at the Perplexcity website with your answer and you score points and climb your way up the leaderboard. Solve all the clues in a particular colour and design block to earn bonus points. There are forums to discuss and trade clues, online newspapers to bring you up to speed with the latest news and discoveries from Perplex City, and characters you can interact with who will send you information via email or text.
You can even text the puzzle scribe Von for a clue about any card you're stuck on.
Ther are 256 puzzle cards standing between you and finding the location of the Redeca cube, and over 14,000 players worldwide already on the hunt to win themselves the £10,000 prize. There are 132 cards currently available, and the rest of the clue cards will be released in waves as players puzzle their way through the mystery.
